Have you heard our story of how Sugar Daddy’s Mini Donuts started? Or how our name was created? It’s been a topic of discussion within our family of 5 since 2019 and we finally made it happen in 2022! Our story…

We are Michael and Nicole, husband and wife team and owners of Sugar Daddy’s Mini Donuts. Our children are our inspiration.

Mini donuts is one of our family’s favorite treats. We love the smell, watching them being made right in front of us, choosing our own toppings, and of course eating a whole donut in one bite. 🍩

Every drive home from eating mini donuts was the same. First, we’d devour our donuts, then we’d talk with our kids and dream about having our own mini donut business someday. We wanted to share one of our favorite memories with everyone. They were excited to dream with us and discuss possible business names, flavors, menu items, and all things that go into starting a business. We’d even create math problems for them to solve that included possible donut purchases.

When our conversations continued over some time, my husband and I made the decision that we need to make something happen. We didn’t want our kids to keep hearing us talk about our dream of mini donuts but wanted to show them the actions that need to take place in order for our vision to become a reality. We wanted to set an example. After that moment, we got to work and things started falling into place. Here we are today, learning and growing together through our business journey as a family.

We still work our full-time jobs and continue to grow our business in our free time. Being in the kitchen is where our family enjoys being creative, trying new recipes to top our donuts, or thinking of items to add to the menu for when we get our “future food truck”.

We get asked quite often, “Why Sugar Daddy’s?” We had a few names in mind for our business but because Michael is a father of 3 and enjoys making things with sugar, the name Sugar Daddy seemed most fitting. Plus, it’s a funny play on words.
